So even though I live close I never was going to wait 30-45 minutes outside to get into a place for pizza but driving through town and took a chance and only had a 10-minute wait to be seated.
NYC is the best for ordering a couple of slices but for a whole pie NH was the best I've ever had.

....After hearing about New Haven style for so long I didn't think it could live up to expectations but it did.

Did you screw up with punctuation and/or capitalization in the thread title?

New Haven pizza is not the best. Please can we stop with this madness. Its good. Some days it’s out of this world!

But so is NYC pizza, NJ pizza, and Chicago pizza. If your pizza is good, you don’t need to keep reminding everyone and constantly tell everyone it’s good. It’s ridiculous that CT put billboards in NYC telling everyone CT pizza is the best. And they went down to Washington to whine and moan and annoy all the legislators and made them sign some proclamation that CT is the pizza capital or something. Very embarrassing.

Do you see NYC doing stuff like this? Of course not. They just let their quality pizza do the talking.

Yes, Pepe’s is good. So is Sally’s…so is Modern…so is Bar. Colony is also good. Lombardi’s is good. Prince St is good. Defaras is fine.

Don’t let worthless Dave Portnoy and his cocaine tarnished taste buds get you to drink his Koolaid. His opinion is garbage and so is he.

Pepe’s and Sally’s are now franchised. What they can’t replicate is the passion and love that the founders had when making the pizza. It’s just mass produced. And it’s fine. If you want to wait in line at the New Haven places go for it. But it’s not like you’re going to eat a slice of Sally’s and the clouds will open and angels will come down and lift you up.

It’s fine. It’s pizza. Some days it’s great, some days it’s burned. It’s all personal opinion. Frozen pizza is also fine.

Chicago pizza is a casserole.
New Jersey makes the best steak and cheese but their pizza doesn't compare to CT or even NYC.
NYC pizza is the best for a couple of slices on a paper plate with a soda.
New Haven is the best for a whole pie.

No point in arguing over 9s or 9.5s or 10s.  Count your blessings.  2 slices of Good cheap pizza is a godsend.

If you move out to LA you'll have great Mexican but shit pizza and miss it, if you move back you'll miss the Mexican food.
