The US needs to pull all funding and military commitments from Ukraine. Zelensky has made it very clear that they have nothing left to lose at this point.
Russia has substantial oil reserves that can be refined into diesel, which could help alleviate high energy prices. Despite Europe buying hundreds of billions of dollars’ worth of Russian gas since the war began, they continue to side with Ukraine and feign manufactured outrage. I don’t understand how people fail to see this.
The long-standing strategy of isolating Russia has never worked since the war started—the world remains too dependent on Russian energy.
More importantly, questions about the missing hundreds of billions in aid are legitimate. Ukraine is a financial black hole of corruption. Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv, went to parliament and asked where all the money meant for the city’s defense had gone. He has also been calling for residents to abandon Kyiv because of the lack of power and running water.
What you mainly hear from mainstream media is coverage of Russian missile and drone strikes on apparent civilian targets. That portrayal is far from the full picture. In four years, Russia has hit fewer civilian targets and caused fewer civilian deaths than Israel has in Gaza over roughly three years—it isn’t even comparable. Russia has focused relentlessly on Ukraine’s power plants, electrical grid, trains bringing in military aid, and especially drone bases. You don’t see much reporting on this because Ukraine has imposed strict restrictions on coverage of Russian strikes inside the country.
The GBU’s kidnappings and the forced conscription (busification) of new recruits— men pulled off the streets and sent to die on the front lines also go largely unreported. Ukraine should be called out by the media for throwing its youth and able-bodied men into a meat grinder so ruthlessly. But that will never happen.
It’s deeply ironic that Europe wants more American involvement in the Russia-Ukraine war—more arms, ammunition, F-16s, tanks, and helicopters shipped to Ukraine, or other NATO countries transferring their existing arsenals. Yet these same countries, including the UK, refuse to help with the fight against Iran.
European leaders and liberals here insist America should stop playing world police and pull out of every region. Fine—let’s do that. Fuck Ukraine. It can become solely Europe’s problem. Fuck Taiwan, fuck Japan, fuck South Korea. Let China run rampant and invade all of them. Who cares, right?
