Glucosamine
« on: May 08, 2006, 12:24:39 AM »
Do you guys use it, and does it work? What are your thoughts on it?
How/when should you take it? Is it best absorped with food?
(Can't find much info on it.)

I've started using it to protect my shoulders, and my knees. They are both a little bit fuxored.
Too early to say if it does any good. Maybe a little bit better...

I take (1500mg, sometimes Chondroïtine, which kinda works in the same way).

i supplement it everyday, but I doubt that it does that much if you have serious problems, it's not miraculous

take 1500mg for 4-6 weeks, then 750 ed is enough. you will have to supplement it over 6 months though, to have any effects.

Stronger, healthier joints with glucosamine

"One study showed that glucosamine was superior to acetaminophen (also known as paracetamol) for relieving arthritis symptoms."

1500 glucosamine
1200 chondroitin
500 MSM
appears to work well together, although I'm not aware of any science directly behind that.   Individually, those are the studied dosages.  There is some evidence that there MAY (that's a big may) be a link between prostate cancer and chondroitin, so you might want to just do the glucosamine/MSM blend.
