« on: June 18, 2006, 08:59:47 PM »
hey guys
I'm thinking about adding in a decline movement into my chest routine.. i gotta say that  lying on a decine bench isn't the funnest think for me. but, I was wondering what is the best decine movement??

I was thinking about the hammer decline machine.

any suggestions??

Thanks

just suck it up and do barbell declines, i know it sucks laying on a decline bench, it seems like all the blood goes to my head and i'm always a little dizzy after a set but i find that it's worth it because it's a great overload movement and it always helps add pounds to my flat bench.

You will find that  doing Dip's (elbows wide out) can build the lower pec line just as well, if not better, for most BB'ers than Declines.. If doing the decline's, DB's would always be prefered over BB's for a better muscle recuitment and ROM, if muscle mass and impressive growth is the main concern.

Certain people have become dizzy & confused when doing declines. They remain that way even when they post on this site. Good Luck.

If your going to do dips for chest you need to come nice and low and get a good stretch so don't do this with loads of wieght on a dip belt, if i do this excersise, I end with it and only use my bodyweight.

you're advising a person to use dumbells instead of a barbell, who's the dizzy one?

Does it? I hate the declone because i feel like my knees are gonna explode- like my legs are tucked in their too tight..I often do at the end of my chest workout dips...3-4 sets, lots of reps, with just bodyweight... I might try to start doing decline barbells though...havent done them in AGES..! :(

like i said you can really overload your pressing with declines and help your flat bench which i feel is the best and most important chest movement, dips are beneficial but only for strengthening the triceps.

You do get a more free range with db then you do with a barbell and can concentrate on it a particuler area more so with db imo
