FAILING ON A SQUAT
« on: July 28, 2006, 02:06:46 AM »
what is the proper way to bail out? i was watching the discovery ch and it showed some convicts squating and the guy missed the lift and he kinda just bent over and let the bar roll over hi neck and head, looked like he almost broke his neck.

Your hams much touch your calves! I Recently competed and this was a rule that I didn't know! I was squating 90º with 200kg, and on the contest day I only squated 180 kg!

if possible always squat in a power rack and use safety bars when going heavy- however ,if no rack,  it's best to dump the bar behind you instead of letting it roll forward- the use of spotters can help limit this situation as well- peace!
