Bonnar using gear?
« on: September 08, 2006, 10:01:07 AM »
Does anyone know anymore about Stephan Bonnar testing positive for Boldendone.  From what I read he can appeal it and no punishment has been set.  I have a bad feeling they are going to try and make an example out of him using gear.  Because they are trying so hard to go more mainstream be more accepted by the general public.  And with all the shit going on in baseball this will make the UFC look bad.  So hopefully they are easy on the punishment.  I think he is going to do well as long as all of this doesn't set him back.

They're gonna make an example out of him.  Dana White doesnt want that shit near the UFC.  Fined and suspended will probably do it.  I dont know how much or how long but it cant be life long or nothing like that.

Possible 250 grand fine based on his 15 grand purse..kinda steep. I guess he figured he needed to do something because Forest has the endorsment deals etc..its to bad. Didn't help anyway

Stephan hasn't improved since the finale, and Forrest has so I guess the pressure got to him.  They pump his as being a golden glove champ, maybe I should box there.  Plus you always hear about his ground game, but you never see it really.  He's only subbed C class fighters.

Most of the punishment and the testing and all of that is up to the NSAC. Pretty sure the only thing UFC can do is not offer him anymore fights. If it was up to UFC, they probably would go Pride's route. I don't think Pride tests for anything.

Why should they test for anything? this isn't competitive team sports or a sport where olympic records are up for the taking (all of which were broken using gear anyways, lol)  I don't see the big deal about using gear especially in something like fighting.
