Anyone make their own protein bars? Can you provide any ideas on recipes/ingredients? Thanks in advance...here's one from the web:

"Looking for a good protein bar recipe? This makes a meal replacement bar at a mere fraction of the cost of packaged protein bars and none of their glycerin, preservatives, or sugar, these low-fat bars are rich in fiber and taste great with a light spread of natural peanut butter across the top."

What You Need:
3 1/2 cups quick oats
1 1/2 cups powdered non-fat milk
4 scoops low carb chocolate or vanilla protein powder
1 cup sugar-free maple syrup (Cozy Cottage, Cary's or Howard's)
2 egg whites, beaten
1/4 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 c. natural applesauce

1. Preheat over to 325 and spray a baking sheet or 9x12 baking dish with non-stick spray. The 9x12 baking dish will yeild thicker bars.
2. Mix oats, powdered milk, and protein powder in bowl and blend well.
3. In separate bowl, combine eggwhites, orange juice, applesauce, and the sugar-free syrup and blend well.
4. Stir liquid mixture into dry ingredients until blended. The consistency will be thick and similar to cookie dough.
5. Spread batter onto pan and bake until edges are crisp and browned.
6. Cut into 10 bars and store in airtight container or freeze.

Tips:
If you find you want a moister bar, use 1/2 cup of natural applesauce.

Another from the web:

* 5 tbsp natural peanut butter (chunky or smooth)
* 1/2 cup dry oat meal or whole grain hot cereal (uncooked)
* 1/2 cup oat flour (double the dry oats if you do not have oat flour)
* 6 scoops chocolate whey protein (approximately 132 grams worth of low-carb protein powder)
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* 2 tablespoons flax seeds (optional)
* 1 cup non-fat dry milk
* 1/2 cup water (depending on what type of protein you use, you may need to add more)
* Modifications: Use vanilla protein and replace ~1/4 cup of the oatflour with a variety of nuts, seeds, or dried berries.

1. Spray an 8x8 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
2. Combine dry ingredients in a medium size bowl and mix well. Add peanut butter and mix - the mixture will be crumbly and dry. Add water & vanilla.
3. Using a wooden spoon or rubber spatula, everything until a dough forms. The dough will be sticky. Spread dough into pan using a clean wooden spoon or spatula that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
4. Refrigerate a few hours (or freeze for an hour) and cut into 9 squares.
5. Wrap bars individually (use sandwich bags or plastic wrap) or store in covered container between sheets of wax paper. Keep refrigerated.

Homemade Protein Bar recipe -  8 servings
1/2 cup oatmeal
1 1/2 cup protein powder
1/4 cup natural peanut butter (NO SUGAR ADDED--fat drained)*
1 cup skim milk powder

1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and add enough water to make a stiff dough--you will have to get your hands dirty to mix it up; it's sticky.
2. Spray an 8x8 inch cake pan with Pam and press in dough evenly.
3. Refrigerate a few hours to harden, then cut into 8 - 12 bars, depending on requirements.
4. Wrap bars in plastic wrap & store in fridge.

You can adjust to your portion needs by cutting into larger or smaller bars. I cut mine into 8 bars and that works out to approx:
