Suggestions for making threaded dumbells more comfortable
« on: December 02, 2006, 12:39:20 AM »
I am not loaded, so I can't afford to put racks of dumbells throughout my house.  So I bought some 18" threaded dumbell handles that I could fit up to 140 lbs on.
Here is the picture

Unfortunately the ends don't feel too good siting on my thighs, before I do a set of dumbell presses.  Is there any type of nice endcaps for these so they would be more like the prostyle dumbells?

dude this is the nutrition board, but nevermind that i guess

i had the same problem. what i did was get some 2.5 lb and 5lb weights and put them on the end so that when you twist the 'nut' on to tighten it up it doesn't go all the way on and you can use the flatness of it to keep the dumbbell from digging into you

that's a nice solid looking db, better than you see in most gyms, good work.

Thanks for the compliment, I am hoping I can rig up some kind of endcaps to protect my thighs.  Else there are a couple Pro Style dumbell hanldes on ebay I am watching.

What pisses me off is now they are on sale, I paid nearly twice that before.
