Difference between you and me is that I get my info from people in the industry. You get it from the web. The web is full of marketers and propaganda and you cannot tell the difference most of the time.

So no matter what website you show me, because I hear it from the horses-mouth my information is always better. Until you know people in the industry...buy buy

Like you really think any pro will tell you their roid schedule on a website? duh. They'll push their product and say "Take XYZ and you'll be like me!" -- same with blu-ray and sony and those who back that technology.

Face it,

Blu-Ray is better specification wise by a mile as well.

Spearheaded by Sony. Propaganda by Sony. Marketing by Sony.

You know why people are on that list? You know how easy it is to get on that list? You know how little that list actually means? You realize how fast those companies will disassociate themselves from that list once people start to figure out that blu-ray isn't all that?

Call up a developer at The Collective or EA or Midway and ask why they don't want to develop for the PS3 and/or blu-ray. Then come back to me. I've talked to developers at all three companies you turd.

They ALREADY ARE Developing and have done so.

CES: Electronic Arts, Vivendi sign on for Blu-ray Disc
By Martyn Williams, IDG News Service

Electronic Arts and Vivendi Universal Games, both major game software makers, are due to announce later Thursday their support for the Blu-ray Disc optical disc format.

Related linksThe two companies are scheduled to make the announcement on Thursday afternoon at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, according to Blu-ray Disc Association member-company sources who did not wish to be named.

Recent months have seen many of the major Hollywood studios signal support for Blu-ray Disc or the competing HD-DVD format but game software publishers have been largely quiet on their plans.

Both Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD are based on blue lasers and can accommodate several times the amount of data that can be stored on today's DVD discs. Movie companies are interested in the formats because the extra storage space allows enough room for a high-definition movie while game companies are interested in using the extra space to add more graphics, interactivity and complexity to their game titles.

Sony is a major backer of Blu-ray Disc technology and its Sony Computer Entertainment subsidiary already said it will use Blu-ray Disc in its next home game console, the successor to the PlayStation 2, which is expected to be released sometime in 2006. Microsoft and Nintendo, which compete with Sony in the console space, have yet to make similar announcements.

In the personal computer market both HP and Dell are members of the Blu-ray Disc Association and HP recently said it is planning to release PCs with Blu-ray Disc drives later this year. On the competing side, NEC and Toshiba said they will add HD-DVD support to some of their PCs or offer compatible drives later this year.

Electronic Arts makes games for all major games platforms and its line-up includes some of the most popular sports-themed games on the market. Vivendi Universal's products include a number of major PC and console titles and the company counts itself as the number two PC game software maker.

EGTV: Midway boss backs Blu-ray(News)by Johnny Minkley
About this game
11/07/2006 17:18

With Sony continuing to come under fire from critics over its Blu-ray strategy, the Japanese giant's next-generation DVD technology has received a boost from Midway boss David Zucker.

Speaking exclusively to Eurogamer TV, in an interview broadcast today, the US publisher's CEO and president dismissed fears that PS3's Blu-ray-inflated price tag is a significant issue, while predicting that success for Sony's next-gen console will provide a major leg-up for the new DVD format in its war with Toshiba's rival HD-DVD standard.

"There's a lot in the PlayStation 3; think about the fact that you get Blu-ray, the next-generational leap in DVD - you get a Blu-ray player in the machine," Zucker said. "When you think about that and some of the feature sets that come with it, including the hard drive, it seems like a reasonable price for the early launch. Presumably that price will come down over time as they move through the console cycle."

Asked how significant a bearing the next-generation DVD battle would have on the console market, he added: "I think it's an important part of the puzzle. The other side is, if PlayStation 3 is huge, the gamer helping to drive that, that's going to have a big impact in helping Blu-ray DVD technology. It's going to work both ways."

Following a solid E3 showing, spearheaded by stunning next-gen action title Stranglehold, Zucker was also keen to highlight the dramatic turnaround in product quality the publisher has achieved, following a period of extensive reform.

"We've improved the quality of our games over the past couple of years; we're doing a much better job on the marketing side now," he commented. "You're going to see as we go into 2007 fewer, bigger, better titles that really move the dial in terms of quality and their impact on the industry."

Elsewhere in the interview, Zucker stressed the importance of Europe to Midway's global ambitions, and praised the achievements of territory boss Martin Spiess, who joined the publisher in May 2005.

"Martin Spiess has done a great job over the past year," Zucker enthused. "We've actually now got our own offices in the UK, France and Germany, the biggest three markets over there, so I'm very happy with the progress. Europe's a big focus and we're expecting big things for Rise & Fall over there - we're very excited.

"In 2004 (Europe's share of our overall revenue) was 18 per cent. Our goal is to get to 35 per cent by 2007, which is similar to what a THQ or Activision does with publishing revenues. Martin has assured me he's going to get us there and I think he will."

Like I said I have no idea what the difference is.  I could care less.  I don't need that kind of stuff.  But I do know that is his business and I he is pretty well respected so be careful I have a feeling he knows this stuff.

Onlyme..... you are a respected member of this board,  I am at a loss as to how an idiot like the TA seems to continue on even after a person as yourself, articulately expresses yourself only to have this "Village Idiot" not only refuse to stand and deliver but to run also.
It is ever so apparent as to why people as such will never ever be moderators let alone real Men.

Keep up the good work and thank you for exposing those who are not worthy of intellectual conversation and foreward thinking.

TA....Intellectual is on page 437 Websters addition, circa 1987
  your welcome   hope this helps

In 2 years when you're watching your DVD's on either a Blu-Ray DVD Player or a HD DVD Player then you'll know what they're arguing about.

Until either Blu-Ray crashes or HD DVD crashes all this arguing is meaningless.

No one knows which format is going to win, it's way too early.

The fact that TA is such a Blu-Ray supporter doesn't bode well for the longevity of Blu-Ray.

You will own either one eventually.  The cool thing about the Computer Blu Ray writeable drives is the fact that they encompass such a wide array of formats.

I also have the capability of an HD Dvd Drive in the Xbox-360 if I want to go that route

Yes Betamax, thanks.  But isn't Betamax better quality than VHS.  I mean they still use 3/4 Beta in Hollywood I think.  I have a commercial I did on 3/4.  And if this Blu Ray just came out is it good enough to buy now or should wait to make sure all the bugs are out.

At least Adonis looks like a bodybuilder but doesn't step up onstage. Goodrum doesn't look like anything like a bodybuilder but does step up onstage.
