No news, but had to print a post about him.
This guy was wonderful and the greatest strongman of all times.
Just look on your`e tube, he destroys Kazmaier and Capes. When he died in 1993 it was the greatest lost to the world of weight lifting ever.
He had the charisma of Arnold S and a great personality.
A four time World Strongest Man winner.
I will ad a few pictures,
I`m glad that there has been made a movie about his life, from his friend Arnasson.

I met the guy at Joensuu, Finland in -90, where he was for WSM- competition. I was training in local gym when he come there to do his workout, and I did have an opportunity to change few words with him. Very nice man, just like a common guy, easy to talk with. I was ending my bench press when he come by and ask me to leave weights on the barbell. Then he load there two plates per side and start his warm up, with my current  6 rep max + 80kg. I felt kind a weak after that...

like i said before "viking" Jon Pall was very strong but HE WAS NOWHERE NEAR as strong on the static events as Kazmaier or OD Wilson, Wilson officially squatted almost 1000 pounds and deadlifted 895 and Kazmaier officially totalled 2420 in a meet, Sigmarsson never came close to those numbers.

OD's best competition pull was 876.3 lbs.

by 1987 kaz was past his prime. he won from 1980 through 1982, after which he wasn't invited again until 1988 (so your claim that jon pall beat him in 1987 is wrong). kaz at his best was a monster.

that would be like if ronnie coleman wasn't invited to the olympia after 2000, and then couldn't compete again until 2006 when jay beat him. actually that's a perfect analogy, same time frame and all.

Kaz was a monster but so was Sigmarsson.

i beg to differ, i remember seeing a list of the all time best lifts at Superheavy in PL USA and it had an 895 pull listed for him.
