The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) recently released its official results and medical suspensions for UFC 66. Looking at the list of battered warriors, the health of UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell is the most notable concern.
In the post-fight press conference, we learned that Chuck injured a tendon in his finger on Tito’s “big head”. It was also revealed that he sustained a knee injury, which is the reason he may have looked a little off.
As a result, Liddell has been suspended until June 30, pending doctor’s approval for both injuries. Essentially, that means Chuck is on the shelf for six months unless he can heal and have a doctor clear him to fight sooner.
The soonest he can return is February 15 and he’s under “no contact” orders until January 30.
Here are the rest of the UFC 66 walking wounded:
Tito Ortiz is suspended until March 2 and no contact until February 15 [insert Jenna joke here].
Forrest Griffin is suspended until January 31 and Marcio “Pe de Pano” Cruz is suspended until January 31 and no contact until January 22.
Eric Schafer is suspended until March 2 and no contact until February 15 because of a lip laceration.
Shame about Chuck, hope this doesnt become a problem for his fight with Rampage. Obviously, hes going to need atleast 2 good wins to get a title shot and that should give Chuck sufficient time to recover. Im waiting to see who is going to be predictable enough to blame it on a poke ha ha
