HAHAHAha Bo Deitl went on Cavuto and used the show 24 to show that terrorists are out there!!!

LOL... I watched nickelodeon today and I believe I now have conclusive proof that Spongebob Squarepants does indeed exist and he lives in a pineapple under the sea

Former New York City police detective Bo Dietl was Neil Cavuto's guest today (January 17, 2007) on Your World. Dietl appeared along with Imam Hassan Al-Qazwini, of the Islamic Center of America, to discuss a January 7 incident in which Northwest Airlines prohibited a group of 40 Muslims from boarding a plane in Germany, after a pilgrimage to the Hajj, on their return trip to Detroit. The group said that Northwest's action was discriminatory and threatened to launch a boycott, whereupon Northwest apologized and agreed to pay for any expenses incurred as a result of the "snafu."

At one point Cavuto turned to Dietl and said, "Bo, you have a problem with Northwest apologizing, right?" to which Dietl responded:

No, I have a problem because things have changed, Hassan. We have to look at -- a bunch of Irish guys are not going to get on the plane now and blow themselves up or put themselves into buildings. The fact of the matter is, I mean, you don't watch '24?' On Fox TV? They're out there. They're out there. There are cells out there. We have to protect ourselves against them as Americans.

Don't they have any standards for police force anymore?

Consider the guys who didn't make it to the TV show... Scary.

The Titus farce, with the dumb cops, seems more believable all of a sudden.

Perhaps cops should be the only ones in society NOT to be allowed to wear guns? They may be a danger to the public?

I could see them fire one off by mistake when taking a shit, or whatever. Damn...

Zack, are you referring to police of all nationalities here, or just American ones?

US police, since they're the ones fcuking up lately.

I have a solid confidence in British and Swedish cops.

edit: I know a former US cop, stand up guy, so the post is a little tongue in cheek, still... seems like the level of competence is questionable. My buddy didn't do too much school before becoming a police. Here in Sweden, they go through 3 years of school, and need to pass the psychological and physical, obviously, but also the academical test before entering the police academy.

I suspect the Brits have even higher standards.

And you've, of course, lived in the United States to be able to make a comment on their level of policing? If not, can I please also have an update on the state of policing in China, Cuba and Brazil?

Bo Dietl is a former NYPD detective and is very anti-arab.  he has used lots of foul words when describing arabs.  Frequent guest on Imus in the morning, an MSNBC show.

Look at the irrationality of this statement from a detective:

The fact of the matter is, I mean, you don't watch '24?' On Fox TV? They're out there. They're out there

How long did you live there for, Zack, and how long ago?
