Motivation?
« on: February 17, 2007, 05:53:49 PM »
I've spent last week really ill, throwing up, only keeping 1 meal a day down, etc. and lost 6lbs.  I started back in the gym on Monday and felt as weak as piss.  It kinda got me down a bit, cos I had to lower all the weights I would normally use.

So, I was just wondering what people do to motivate themselves after they suffer a minor setback?
(I've got some new workout music, and changed my routine a bit.)

An old Shaolin saying: "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times"

Pain is only weakness leaving the body

I hated every minute of training, but I said, don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life a champion. - Muhammad Ali, Boxer

Train hard... fight easy.

Tomorrows battle is won during today's practice. - Samurai maxim

In the course of achieving anything, nothing is more important than persistence.

Suffer the pain of discipline or suffer the pain of regret!

Battles are not fought during the fight but inside yourself when you train.

The extra mile is the stretch of road that is never crowded.

Smooth seas do not make skilful sailors. - African proverb

Repetition is the mother of skill...

Knowing is not enough; you must apply. Willing is not enough, you must do.

Victory favours neither the righteous nor the wicked. It favours the prepared.

Success must be felt within before it can be seen on the outside.

Obsessed is just a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated.

Tough times don't last. Tough people do.

its pretty easy for me to get motived to train.   I would watch vieo clip or a bbing videos like Blood and Guts by Dorian Yates to get me going again. I also, use myself as a way to get motived.  like if i do  350lb bench  but i got seriously ill.. I use it as a goal to see how fast i can get be up there.

try to make  short goals of making it back to  before you got ill..

Stand in the mirror and observe bro! That should work, you can always find something that needs fixing! JK

Yeah, but that needs a plastic surgeon, not a gym!!!    ;)
