Isn't it ironic? Don't you think?
« on: March 27, 2007, 05:19:44 AM »
<< The bitter irony comes in the phrase that the Pentagon has adopted for the aerial corridors they've laid out to escape insurgent attacks on [U.S.] helicopters: "No-Fly Zones."... A full four years into the war, and just shy of that mark since "Mission Accomplished" was proclaimed, the occupying power has been forced to deny its own pilots access to larger and larger swathes of Iraqi airspace -- even as the use of helicopters for troop transport and supply is growing, due to the increasingly unsafe conditions on the ground. It is the Iraqis who are now imposing "No-Fly Zones" on the "world's only superpower." >>

i cannot believe with 200 mil a day, 150k men, a new democratically elected govt, and the 'hearts and minds' of the people, we cannot stop 2000 insurgents.

Perhaps that 200 mil a day should go to rewards for snitching on those holding bombmaking materials.  Maybe they'll help us out for money.

Or maybe they'll start giving a shit about their own country.

Or, most likely, we'll finish the pipeline in Oct 2008 and get out of there and let someone else deal with it. :)
