Thanks for the link Ribo.

I found it an interesting read, and to even try and make a case that figure is as hard/harder than bodybuilding is daft imo.

One thing's for sure...

If bodybuilders got scored on facial appearance, Branch Warren would never have made pro.

As a figure competitor striving to become a bodybuilder I did find the article very entertaining. Not all but most successful figure competitors do train like bodybuilders and do put in the time and effort just as the bodybuilders. It is very frustrating when dependent on the judging panel that day, you never know if they're looking for the muscular girl, the full girl, or the skinny girl. A bodybuilder can always count on being judged on muscularity and leanness each time she steps on stage. I think more respect needs to go to the figure girls who bust their butts in the gym and on the treadmill striving to set themselves apart from the other 30 girls on stage.

It was interesting.. but damn.. I dont train like that... lol and if I was required to, I would probably have quit... I cannot imagine Figure to be harder than BB... in any way shape or form..

I've been around the industry for quite some time now and can count the number of times on one hand that someone has said "figure doesn't belong (in the IFBB)".  For every 1 person who might feel that way, there are 1000 who love having it as a part of the 'sport'.

If anything, there's resentment towards the figure competitors, because they get so much of the bodybuilding press coverage now.

Bodybuilding is more difficult than figure, period.  Is figure more competitive because of the numbers?  Yes.  But with respect to training and dieting alone, you can't really compare apples to oranges.

I wish her all the best, but I don't feel she's got a legitimate complaint here.

At least she's hot, though.  :)
