Brutal Media Meltdown coordinated by the jealous boxing community!  Boxing has lost it's thunder and now people are in danger of loosing more jobs.  This what it's all about...

Boxers, Media, and Columnists are insulted/whinning about MMA because they are jealous.  Boxing hasn't had a big time fighter in quite some time.  They have lost there thunder.  Floyd Mayweather Jr. likes to run his mouth and I doubt he'd last a minute in a MMA fight!  MMA is the total package.

Didn't all these little bitches see 'Gladiator'?

Human cockfighting was around centuries before the invention of boxing.

I kind of think MMA has peaked itself.

Most of the fights are boring as hell. Even Cro Cop getting knocked senseless was exciting for only about 30 seconds.

Then I didn't even really care.

I agree. MMA has peaked. Dana is turning into Vince McMahan. It doesn't look good.
Boxing has been around forever and it ain't going nowhere.

There's a lot on money in tv revenue from boxing. The MMA is starting to take a solid chuck and anyone having money taken out of their pocket would get defensive.

I do think that boxing is at a low point but if certain people (Don King) would leave the sport it would really help. Boxing is so corrupt and not "pure" it's killing the sport.

MMA is great and the UFC has done a great job of bring it up to where it is. They have to be careful not to fall into the same trap as boxing.

Boxing has the "sweet science" and if you watch the fight this last weekend that what's you got. MMA for YEARS was technically but still had a lot of green bruisers that would just go fucking crazy and you'd get a great fight. Now if the UFC gets to the point where it's TOO technical it will be worse than boxing cause it will be ground work. Which is work to watch than shot jabs and hugging.

I want MMA and boxing to reach the same point so they have to compete for attention. Competition is better for the public and for years boxing hasn't had any competition. Hopefully MMA and the UFC will help that.

What really irritates me is that boxing writers talked about how brutal and barbaric mma is.  they dont consider how brutal boxing was at the turn of the century.  The gloves they used were smaller than those used in mma and matches could go twenty rounds.  There also wasnt the knock down rule that is in place now where the opponent of a downed fight has to go to a neutral corner. Boxer could strike a downed opponent.
