« on: May 17, 2007, 11:18:48 AM »
Best doctor to go see for a chest injury. I was doing dips and my chest popped (cartilage) now it looks messed up but my GP didn't really help. so i need to know what other type of Doctor to see ASAP!!!!!

Never had pain before, it popped on my sternum hasn't been the same since.

Find a good orthopedic practice and ask for an MD there who specializes in sports injuries. Healthgrades.com is a good website to search if you don't mind paying the $16 or so for a report. Don't rely on your insurance site's MD ratings online.

I've popped mine like 100 times since i was a kid and it looks fine.

What do you mean it looks weird? Is something sticking out?

basically this happened. the slant on the left side. there was never any bruising, Now every so often there is a pain along the inside of the pec and it looks as if it's creeping up.

what can I do about it if anything than just looking at it wasting away, it seems.

Your left pec wasn't shaped like that before?

Weird, mine looks the same (not AS bad, but one side is slanted a bit) and always has.

I thought it was just the shape but if yours changed to that maybe the muscle tore?

there is definately a difference. not a tear, something is off. there was never any bruising.

I just want to know who I should see to get the proper help instead of complaning about it.  :)

yeah, minor tear, see a board certified plastic surgeon.  ruhl had his repaired recently.  tell them it hurts, so insurance may pay for it.
