vince basile the ultimate mythbuster and my experiences
« on: June 06, 2007, 01:04:17 PM »
ive started training vince basile style, one day on/ one day off

i train one day upper body the next lower body, its working great, ive lost 10 kg of fat, and added musclemass.

overtraining, muscle recovery wait atleast 7 days to recover?? bullshit

you can be sore each day and grow better, you grow at night. i do less excersizes per body part but train them 2/3 times a week. i get such a pump in the gym lately i dont look myself anymore, people ask me have i start using anabolics, haha that was the ebst compliment i had. i didnt train seriosly for a year, tis amazing that ive gained muscle and lost 5 inches of my waist in just 3 months serious training and eating more protein, and no simple carbs.

You should have done that from that start.

Throw in some cardio to get leaner.

The idea that you have to train all body parts each week is something that just about everyone believes. It is not necessary. Just target a couple of body parts and train them every 3 or 4 days and do lots and lots of sets with the maximum resistance for about 15 reps dropping to about 10 to 12 reps after the 3rd maximum resistance set. Perhaps up to 10 sets are required to cause the muscles to keep growing. If you aren't sore the days following your workout you probably are not growing. Go back and do something else. Once sore, then train again before the soreness goes away. This is the DOMS method of training that I originated and wrote about in Ironman in 2000. If you do all body parts and try to make them all grow you will fail. When you stay on plateaus for a long time you will then believe you can't grow any more and require steroids, etc. You don't need drugs or supplements to grow and keep growing. Too much BS out there and too many supplement companies and magazines promoting this misinformation that is more than less a waste of good money.
