Thin Lizzy was a great band, very underrated.
James Hetfield called Phil one of his favorite song writers.
unfortunately I didn't get into Pantera till after Dimebag was killed.

Cowboys from hell - good

Vulgar display of power - classic

Far beyond driven - good

Everything else they did was shit. The last one, 'reinventing the steel' [ ::)], was so bad i threw it away in disgust. Its probably a good thing he was killed - he was becoming a joke. My only regret is that the gunman didn't also take out his fat bastard brother.

In the same way i wish someone had killed Led Zeppelin after physical graffiti, and Judas Priest after painkiller. Oh, and GNR after appetite for destruction.

All their albums since Cowboys were good. Maybe not from start to finish, but all contained great tracks and that's enough.

Great Southern had title track which was good. Floods is good, check out the guitar work at the end of it with the sampled raindrops, Living Through me is kicking,  Drag the waters...

Same with Reinventing... Goddamn Electric, We'll grind that axe is great, Yesterday dont mean shit, Revolution is my name.

As for Judas Priest, Angel of Retribution was pretty decent.
