LA hotel and gym info for the Ironman Pro

I am making plans to go out to the Ironman / LA Fit expo next FEB 2008.  It has been YEARS since I have been out to that area.  What are some good hotels near the LA convention center? I am a member of GOLDS and would like some info on the best GOLDS gym in that area.

Don't stay downtown. Go Sunset Strip or Westside.

Stay near the Marina... There's a very nice Marriott.

Go to the Gold's in Venice.

well you could stay at the raddison in culver city, or you could stay in koreatown, or there is an extended stay america by culver city thats close to everything.  My favorite place is a place on main street in santa monica, there is a 65 dollar motel off labrea that isnt bad, anything by the beach is high as hell, there are some spots closer to the beach than downtown that arent bad.  YOu can pm me, and I can let you know better what your looking for.  There is also a couple holiday in expresses that arent bad, you could put a cot up in my den, I charge you 60 a day, but its a house, in inglewood, good luck.

Well, we will stay at the Holiday Inn City Center, 1020 South Figueroa, which is pretty much right next to the Staples Center, Convention Center where the Ironman Pro and Fit Expo is at, and also the brand new Nokia Theater.  You can walk to everything from there.


Gold's Gym Downtown Los Angeles is located at 735 Figueroa at the M2 Level, and is an awesome gym, state of the art gym!

ok, i registered just so i could post a reply to this question.  If you call yourself a bodybuilder, you owe it to yourself to go to golds venice, i dont give a flip about the talk about it not being the mecca anymore or no pros train there or crap like that. GO THERE, it will always be the mecca. and stay in marina del ray if you can, santa monica is wayyy expensive and crowded, marina is as bob would say, "a well kept secret".  also, you must visit the boardwalk in venice and the promenade in santa monica, 2 places where everyone should visit before they die.

If you've never been before, but think that Gold's Venice is the 'Mecca, then DO NOT GO because if you do, it will lose its mystique and your fantasy will be ruined.

go to golds hollywood.  tons of girls all over the place in skimpy little outfits. also the guys are really friendly, just be sure and hold eye contact for longer than 2 seconds followed by a head nod and you'll have a friend for life!
