Whats your fave horror film?

I can't think of a favorite off hand, Maybe the original Dawn of the Dead?

I did see "Slither" recently. Prettygood mix of horror and comedy.

You'll never go wrong with:

The Exorcist
The Shining
Poltergeist
Halloween

I could go on and on, but The Shining is my current fave.  Especially the new widescreen edition that was just released.

Yeah, the Shinning is an awesome film. I've heard Steven King wasn't happy with it, I guess it diverges with the book.

A lot of people hated it, but I enjoyed "The Village" Not totally a horror film, but almost.

I just watched the one with the wooden Indian and the fungus in the water the other day, I believe it was part 2. I stopped by my friends house tonight and she had Hostel, not sure if it was 1 or 2, I was gonna watch it, but I had something to do. Anyway, are the Hostel movies any good? I watched Turistas the other day and thought it was horrible and someone told me they were similar.

I always liked Silver Bullet with Cory Haim for some reason.

I've only seen the first one. It's pretty fvcking disturbing. It's more a story of human deprevity then a supernatural thriller.

Hostel is pretty good (haven't seen the second one) - decent concept and would have been an all-time classic IMO if it had been made ten or fifteen years ago. Hostel 1 features a group of males getting killed one by one whereas Hostel II I believe is all females.

I would say the Saw films are good too - the fourth one comes out soon.

here's the thread I started on this a few weeks ago

http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=174855.0

I thought hostel was ok but nothing special.  Like somebody said it would probably be better if it came out years ago.  I don't know there is something about movies being much older that makes me like them more, can't explain it.  I thought silver bullet was pretty cool.

yes he hated it but he shouldn't have, based on the made for tv movie of the shining stanley kubrick made the story a 1000 times better
