Was it a big ordeal or a non-event?

Also, what is a good idea for a special birthday party for your spouse/gf/bf?  Something other than the limo w/or w/o friends to an out of town dinner or dinner w/or w/o friends in a private room at a restaurant?

No, but my wife did last year, my mom had to remind her it was our anniversary and she still argued it  ;D

nor I.

I'm a huge party person and I never forget anything or anyone.  Any excuse for a drinky-poo.

Although I once accidentally overlooked Mother's Day.  (It's in May in Canada and in March in England or the other way around).  Waaaaaaaaa.  Never heard the end of it.  Never again.  I'm now completely great with calendars in all languages.

I still celebrate old mates and family members (who are long dead) anniversaries.  I raise a glass to them and say I've not forgotten...

a big event?

a good idea for a special birthday party for your bf?  Something other than ...

erm...  I have a few stories about this.

I once baked a cake in the shape of a phallus and stuck a candle in the middle and bought an ounce of illegal drugs for a young man whose 21st it was.  We'd been together since he was 19 and I was 25, so it was a big deal.  We gave it all away, chucked the cake about and then smoked the drugs with the neighbours.

Another time, a bf (well a bloke I was seeing), on his way to mine, on his 21st birthday, decided to hold up a gas station.  Guess he forgot it was his birthday & that I'd arranged a mini-party?  He got busted bigtime and spent the night in a cell instead of with me.

Think it was 6 months or a year actually, think he was armed.

I pretended like i did, and it was at a big party...she made a stink, because someone reminded her out loud that it was her b-day. And it was at 9 at night, and she noticed I had said or gotten anything. And I said, "oh damn it's your b-day, I thought it was tomorrow" The shit hit the fan, and I was cursed out... later on that night I had the waiter serve her a lil' light blue box...Tiffany's. The look on her face was priceless.
