Harrison Ford commented a year or so ago that he wanted Star Wars writer George Lucas to kill off his Han Solo character in Return of the Jedi.
"I did think the character itself was relatively thin. I would have liked to see some complication for the character; the only complication I didn't get was to die at the end of the third one. I thought that would have given the whole film a bottom, but I couldn't talk George into it," Ford is quoted as saying.
After watching the newly released teaser trailer for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, I have a hunch George will finally honor Harrison's request by killing off the Indy character.
First off, Harrison Ford is a real douchebag. Every single day that guy should be sucking Lucas cock.
Lucas made him everything he is.
American Graffiti, Star Wars and Indiana Jones.
He should never open his mouth.
As to Indy dying...
Nope, I guarantee it will not happen.
Don't forget the Indiana Jones Chronicles which shows an old Indy telling stories of his youth to anyone who will listen. He is a lot older than he is in Indy IV and he wears an eyepatch.
Lucas considers the IJC to be canon. There were comics and everything. So Indy will not die.
However, I wouldn't be surprised to see spinoff films with Mutt Ravenwood-Jones. They'll try one and if it fails, I believe that will be the end.
If not, well, Lucas knows how to milk things like few before him. Don't forget that we have two Star Wars tv shows coming. Also, there are like five different SW comic books going strong right now and a plethora of novels every year.
