myostatin blockers
« on: March 06, 2008, 12:04:27 AM »
I see BB.com is stocking some now.  Seems to me like a load of bollocks but I was wondering what your opinions on these are?  Anyone tried them?  Looking forward to them becoming readily available for bodybuilding?  Will they become illegal?

This stuff was released before.
It worked as a myostatin binder but only invitro!!!! (In a test tube)
Real world studies of this sea algea was disapointing and the stuff died a quick death to say the least.

They are busy with a REAL myostatin blocker out there but it is still years away.

Biotest, Pinnacle and Cytodyne (original makers of Xenadrine) actually teamed up to try to sell this to the bodybuilding consumers back in early 2000. Each had various stories as to how Myostatin inhibitors worked and how you have to have them etc.  The active ingredient was "Cyctoseira Canariensis" which is a sea algae.  The three companies actually grouped all of their products into massive 8-page ads and put this into most of the major bodybuilding magazines.  Unfortunately, no human studies have ever showed that this algae blocked Myostatin genes in living humans.  In the supplement industry it's always buyer beware!

You know I still remember Titus as a Pinnacle spokeman pushing the stuff, it was added to a MRP of theirs or something like that.
And he worked for CYTODYNE later as well  :D

Hey Scott, I remember those dumb-ass ads too. The products were reported to have been made by some medicine man from the Canary Islands. Who comes up with this stuff?
