CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) users
« on: May 05, 2008, 05:29:50 AM »
FYI,
Optimum is now offering bottles with 180 CLA softgels in adddition to the 90 softgel bottles.

One Softgel has about the Same Amount of CLA found in 6 lbs of Beef or 50 Slices of Cheese. Basically, Each softgel yields 750 mg total CLA and 700 mg of active isomers

There are quite a few studies out there. The effective dosage in most is 3.2-3.4 g daily. Most studies point that it is not a miracle fat loss drug, but does offer modest fat loss.

Here are a couple:

Conjugated linoleic acid supplementation for 1 y reduces body fat mass in healthy overweight humans.

Conjugated linoleic acid reduces body fat mass in overweight and obese humans.

in the first study, HDL decreases and LDL increased in the CLA group which is an adverse outcome. Im against CLA usage for fat loss as there are healthier fats that have better effects on lipolysis. for example, cla downregulates PPAR-alpha which is bad for fat loss, while fish oil increases it.

However, i will say that more research needs to be done as some stuff. Have you personally had any results from it? primodial performance another good company has a product called CLA ethyl ester which is a good CLA product also.

Hi Usmokepole,

Unfortunately, I dont have personal experience with CLA. I have friends who love it and I have heard other users say CLA works great.

To lose fat I just clean up my diet and add extra cardio.
I consistently take  L-Carnitine, Fish Oil and guggelsterones.
If I added the CLA, I may not be able to pin point its impact.

Is primodial performance a new co?

This brings up something I was going to post as  a new thread. Phosphatidyl Serine Complex by Source Naturals? Any experience with this product. I will actually post a new thread on it. Thanks.
