How come it's such an attractant to females for a guy to have a wedding ring on? Seriously, attractive women always seem to be more outgoing and accepting to a guy that has a ring on. I thought this was BS., an 'urban ledgend' of sorts.... but no. Many guys will cooberate this phenomena.

Probably because if he's married, ...chances are he's not gonna be trying to hit on her (hopefully) ...but there are a percentage of pigs who will still do that despite being married. Some even in front of their wives.

Follow a woman from a time a woman leaves her house for about 3 hours and count how many times she's hit on,
...even the ugly ones, ...and you'll see why woman are turned off by guys always hitting on them. A guy with a wedding ring is probably someone with whom she can relax and let her walls down with, ...and as a result, be able to see his good qualities.

In addition some women may view the guy as someone who has been able to commit to a relationship in some way, and they may find that attractive.

Some women may see him as a person that another woman thought was decent enough to marry and they may find that attractive.

And what jag said is also true and the woman's reaction to the man w/the ring could be misconstrued as attraction.

Perhaps 'attraction' is the wrong word. They are easier to converse with, and less stand-offish.

I am not talking about women that are already known/friends, I am refering to the 'girl at the counter' type of situation.

In regards to Jaguars' take on the matter...

I have also considered that, once married, most (not all) guys cease caring about hitting on and impressing the random woman. In my case... when I got married, I really stopped caring about wooing the random cutie, because nothing could ever come of it anyway. Is that unusual in y'alls experience?

I don't think it's unusual at all especially if the man is happily married and/or a secure person.
