Yeah but he was arrested, which suggests that he was in the wrong place, possibly doing the wrong thing. He was also involved with tons of incidents prior to that. Bottom line, the NFL wants athletes to positively represent the franchises they play for.
Even if he wasn't charged with anything, that probably has more do with a lack of admissible evidence more than him not doing anything wrong in the first place.
That's like an NFL player being a passenger in a car that was pulled over for drunk driving. The officer then finds a baggy of coke in the driver's pocket. Even if the NFL player who was the passenger didn't do anything wrong, what makes you think the NFL team he plays for won't react negatively and give him shit for it?
Bottom line? Stop hanging out with douchebags make your career your top priority. Playing in the NFL is not a right, it's a privilege.
