dallas and giants week 16
« on: December 13, 2008, 11:01:51 AM »
huge playoff implications in this game for dallas, with atlanta knocking on the door for that wildcard, playing a tampa bay team that gives up 10 points a game more on the road than at home.

jones' criticism of barber and TO closed door meeting with garrett questioning the number of touches witten is getting can't be helping tensions in dallas.

giants are missing jacobs and plaxico. bradshaw and ward have stepped up nicely when he has been out of the line up with bradshaw averaging almost a full yard per carry more than jacobs.  the giants have topped the toughest division in football with plax out for more than 2/3 of the season due to suspensions, league and team imposed.

alot of side stories in this game that can affect the outcome-

who wins and why?

Too close to call, but could be a great game with tremendous TV ratings.

Bradshaw's one of the best backs in the NFL IMO, the best on the Giants.

Will be interested to see if this past week's soap opera affects the game.

Source: T.O., Witten had to be separated
ESPN.com news services

Updated: December 13, 2008, 7:50 PM ET

While the Dallas Cowboys were trying to downplay a possible rift between Terrell Owens and Jason Witten, the two nearly came to blows on Friday, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram first reported Saturday.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen, according to team sources, confirmed an incident occurred at the Cowboys training facility when Witten tried to engage Owens in a conversation about a pass route. Owens told Witten to stay away from him and called him a name. The two exchanged words before being separated.

Both players acted as if everything was fine when the media was allowed in the locker room, according to the Star-Telegram. But Owens was still upset.

The confrontation came a day after a source told ESPN that Owens believes Romo and Witten -- close friends and road roommates -- hold private meetings and create plays without including Owens.

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips held a team meeting on Friday to clear the air about the report. Afterward, he said any personality conflicts had been resolved.

"Everything is set straight as far as I'm concerned," he told The Associated Press. "I think the players, too. We'll see."

The Cowboys play host to the NFC East leading New York Giants on Sunday night.

my gut tells me that this is the part of the script where T.O gets 9 touches for 190 yards and 3 scores, now whether or not that's enough for Dallas to actually win tomorrow is another story

I wonder when T.O will get what is coming to him.  All this drama has to have some sort of rock bottom.

true dat.

they'll see the rock bottom monday if they lose to the giants and atlanta beats tampa. if this happens balitmore should have their way with them as well.

that whole lockroom is a powderkeg ready to explode.

jones has to be getting close to fed up after pumping millions into a team that hasnt won a playoff game in 12 years.

i think the drama in the week following should dallas lose may be more interesting than the game itself.

i dunno, dallas seems to be their own worse enemy. jones brings in talent regardless of what baggage they come with (TO and pacman). i think if your going to point the finger you have to point it at him. but then, if TO was on the market wouldn't you want him on your team...?

that whole franchise is a mess right now. but, no matter where TO goes he'll upset the lockeroom in time. moss used to be a wild child but has flourished under bellichek both on the field and as a person.

is there a team that TO could go to and not upset the balance?
