Has anyone been to a UFC?
« on: March 03, 2009, 10:26:12 AM »
Im thinking about going to ufc 98 at the mgm grand.  The $250 seats are my limit.  Will I be able to see the fights well?

I went to UFC 69, cage side.  Honestly, I've been to so many cage fights, (I went to WEC 39 a few days ago, second row)  Sitting cageside could be good depending where you are.  Most of the time everyone is watching the jumbotron anyways with the camera men and the refs in the way.

Is it even worth it to go?  I think the $250 seats are mid level. Definitely not cageside. The prices are $70, $125, $250, $400, $600, $800.

Go a day early, make the weigh ins, youre bound to bump in to somebody and get a crazy experience out of it.  Just like I was told by an actual numbers cruncher with the UFC.  People go for the experience and the atmosphere not the view, most people end up watching one of the many jumbotrons anyways.

I went to Locked and Loaded.  I was 20 rows back, but our seats were elevated off the floor.  Could clearly see Miletich choked out, Randleman KO'd.  Couldn't see any gnp.  So I agree, if you're sitting really close, can't beat it.  Buy my seats were better than row 10.

the best seats are about 15 rows up on the lower level, ive had ringside seats before and couldnt see shit.ive been to maybe 10 ufc,s since 2000,i love the day before cause thats when you see all the fighters and get to take pics and bullshit alittle while with them.its a great experiance,be warned though, once you go live, watching it on cable is just not the same and you feel jipped, have a great time and bring at least 2 or 3 cameras

Best seats are usually at the riser.  I have sat 5th row at the Tyson/Bruno fight with all the casino owners and executives and you can't see much.  You can hear the punches though which is cool.  Those seats were around $2,000.  I sat in the 15th row or so just at the start of the risers for the Hearns/Leonard fight I and they were awesome.  And those were only $1500 each.  I had my own reserved seat at the Forum for boxing in the very front row.  It wasn't to bad because I mostly talked to everyone around me.  I sometimes even sat up at the top with friends and gave my seat to just someone in the crowd.  I liked it up there cause people up there were crazy.  Before every fight we had dinner with Jerry Buss and sometime Magic Johnson would come.  Afterward we always had a party at the Forum Club.  That was fun back then
