Why?
That’s right – we want to give Georges a new & improved look. What’s wrong with the old one, you ask? Well, nothing really. But we think you can help us take it to the next level, just as his performance in the Octagon has done over the past couple of years. So we’re giving you, Georges’ fans, the incredible opportunity to be a part of the process.
How?
As you can see from this new page, Georges’ existing website will be shut down (temporarily). It will be replaced with a new website with the initial purpose of accepting submissions (forgive the pun) from you, his fans, on what his logo should be. We’ll let you give us your suggestions for the next couple of weeks, then we’ll select 10 logo ideas as ‘finalists’. Then, even if you’re not a graphic artist, you can still take part in this ‘makeover’ by voting for your favorite. There will be prizes for the finalists, and a terrific prize package for the person who submits the winning logo that you, the fans, select.
What’s next?
Then we’ll incorporate his new logo into his website redesign, you’ll see it displayed on his banner and shorts during UFC 100 on July 11th, and finally, you’ll be able to purchase merchandise with this new logo, starting with rally bandanas for his next fight.
Guiding Principles
For those of you with those graphic wheels already turning, here are some ‘guiding principles’ when creating your design: the ideal logo (and those selected as finalists) will portray Georges’ character, traits such as traditional, classy, humble, athletic, respectful, disciplined, fearless…well, you get the picture. Feel free to include the fleur de lys in your design – the winning logo might just be a variation of what we already have. It can also include the letters “GSP”.
