So this girl was telling me that because she ran so much in college(maybe she was on the track team I wasn't paying too much attention tbh) she had to have the nail on her second toe removed permanently. This conversation wasn't exactly keeping my interest and the only thing I could think of saying was "at least you can get 10% off of pedicures". She told me I was an idiot and walked away. Two questions, why would someone find that offensive and should she not get 10% off pedicures
She might have been relaying some tragedy she experienced that resulted in her having to have painful surgery,
...and you were cracking a joke. That's like some guy telling you about his combat experience in Iraq, and how the IED exploded ripping off his leg, ...and you tell him he should be happy, 'cause he should get 50% on pants when he visits the tailor. You should have been paying attention, not making jokes.
