The League of American Voters (LAV) is a Washington, D.C.- based 501(c)4 organization that raises money to run anti-health care reform television advertisements written by Dick Morris in key swing states. The organization's Web page says it opposes President Obama's efforts to reform the American health-care system "and other forms of socialism." It refers to regulation of the health care system as a "government takeover."
The organization's Web site contains photos of 26 unidentified people of all ages and races on the home page, which gives an impression of a widespread and diverse membership. The site seeks monetary donations and provides a way to donate via credit card, but gives no telephone number or email address and does not list its funders. The League of American Voters is not listed in Guidestar, a widely-used database of information on nonprofits. LAV solicits donations to run further anti-health care reform ads, and adds offers to send donors who give $250 or more an autographed copy of Dick Morris' most recent book, "Catastrophe," which is critical of the Obama administration.
Overlap with Dick Morris
A cached version of Dick Morris' Web site from August 10, 2009, contains an article titled "Four Steps to Save Health Care." The first step instructs readers to read a chapter in Dick Morris' new book, Catastrophe. The second step instructs readers to donate by sending checks by mail to LAV, and Step Three asks readers to email everyone they knows to "Bring them the facts about health care and Obama’s dangerous proposals."[1]

Overlap with Americans for Tax Reform and Tax Day Tea Party Organizers
The League of American Voters shares the same street address and suite number as Americans for Tax Reform and there is some overlap between the League of American Voters, Americans for Tax Reform and Tax Day Tea Party organizers.
The following undated message from Americans for Tax Reform (which bears the same address as the League of American Voters) was posted on Washington D.C. Tax Day Tea Party's Facebook Page:
Hi All! There will be a Health Care town hall held in Washington DC Wednesday night, June 10 at 7:30 to speak out against the socialize medicine scheme that Obama and crew are trying to force us to accept. If you want to come please let me know so I can get the numbers in to the organziers (sic)(which include our National Tea Party Patriot organizers). Come and speak up before your right to choose your doctor and have the health care you need is gone forever!
