Diet
« on: September 09, 2009, 06:47:07 AM »
I have a question for all the edumacated vets here. I am gathering all of the info i can and am planning my first cycle (probably in another 6 months) and have found this site HUGELY helpful in most things......except one. Food. My question is how should i reconfigure my diet to maximize the gains and get the most out of/after my cycle? Should i just eat everything i can get my hands on? Continue eating clean? at 6'4" 230 do i need more than 7k calories a day during cycle? Any help is always appreciated and references for further knowledge (books sites etc) is greatly appreciated.

Honestly, I've never changed my diet too drastically while "on". The only thing I may have done was add another 25-50 grams of protein per day.

7k is just what i was able to figure as far as the absolute most i might need a day. Currently i am only taking in about 2200 a day (cutting atm) and i workout twice a day (cardio am and wights pm) 5 days a week, though i sometimes get bored and do a light workout just to get blood moving on saturdays. So if i stay with the same routine (minus some cardio) would it be safe to say that i could just bump the protein and adjust as i feel needed to what my normal mass diet would be? For some reason i had it in my head that i had to consume more while lifting on cycle.

your gut would probly explode if your went from 2000 to 7000.......

easiest way to do it is to forgett about cals, and just add weight to each meal... eg

your 200g chicken, with 50g of rice would turn into 250g of chicken with 100g rice... just add a little bit at a time and guage on how you look ,weather to add or take away....

you dnt say how many meals you eat each day either, if your eating 6 meals you could squeeze in a 7th,

one things for sure, you dont want to get fat, but you dont wanna be too lean, or your holding back your gains.

Yeah sorry about that, 6 meals a day not counting a post workout shake. I could certainly do 1 more meal a day as most my days start at 4am and end at around 10-11.  :(

what your current diet like? moving from 2200 to 7k calories is wayyyy too extreme. i would probably just add 200-300 more calories to every meal that you have, and nothing more than that. But its hard to say without knowing the breakdown of your meals

at your weight get in 300-350 grams of meat protein everyday. on top of that, try to get in 500 grams, or more (if your can) of carbs. spread this out over 4-6 meals.  keep fat as low as you can be choosing low fat protein and carb sources, and no extra fat on top. only a few tabs of fish oil.

You could also add in another shake or two somewhere in your diet. Shakes are your best friend for force feeders like my self.
