Hughes is still good, but I don't see him getting his belt back.  I think a good next fight for him would be Fitch, let's see if he takes it.  Fitch,Swick and Kos have all been calling him out for a while and they claim he's ducking them.

Maybe Hughes will fight Dennis Hallman again,  if so I hope he loses again.  I'd like to see Hughes vs Anthony Johnson or John Howard.

Fitch would destroy Hughes at this point.  A Hughes/Alves fight would be about even.

Fitch deserves Koz after Koz beats GSP.  Whether they'll fight each other is a different story.

Fitch is boring as hell, but the guy is super talented. He also has one of the best chins in MMA.

That being said, he still doesn't have a chance against GSP.

I would be shocked if Fitch and Kos ever fight, but we will see if the opportunity presents itself.

It's really hard to ever go against Hughes. The guy still has some fight in him.

Yeah, i'll admit he's boring to watch, but the fact is is that he wins fights.

You can win fights in different ways, some spectacular, some boring, but all in all, a win is a win.

Where have you been weightpusher?  Haven't been posting in awhile

Been away from office and rarely post when not working. Should be posting regularly again. Thanks for asking :)

I agree Fitch is a great fighter. Shame that he doesn't get more credit.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Fitch and Shields fight. Fitch would dominate, but still interesting matchup.

Thiago already destroyred Matt, I don't see it going any different if they fought again.  Gsp will rape Kos again as well.  Fitch/Hughes is a fight that no one has seen and makes sense right now.

Totally forgot.  THanks

I doubt GSP will rape Koz at this point.  Their first fight went all 3 rounds.  Actually, most gsp fights go the distance.

I agree a fitch/hughes fight would be ok, but Fitch would dominate.

I do think Fitch has more than earned another title shot, but what are your thoughts on Fitch/Shields or Hughes/Shields?

What sucks for Fitch is that although he wins fights, the last time he had an entertaining fight was when he withstood a beating from GSP for 5 rounds. His inability to entertain has definitely cost him some better match-ups. Pretty sad, seeing that he has one of the most impressive resume's in the division.

I definitely see your point, but entertaining the fans isn't the primary objective.  A win is.

I think a hughes/shields would be VERY nice.

I thing it's wrong that Fitch might possibly get denied another title shot. I know the only reason he might get denied is his dismal drawing power with the fans and his lack of entertaining fights. What does the guy have to do...pull a Chael Sonnen and start a bunch of shit talking?

Fitch is an interesting situation for sure. I see both sides of it, but I think to keep the sport honest and pure, the BEST and MOST TALENTED guy who has EARNED a title shot, should get it. In the end, real fans want to see the best compete against each other. Not the biggest shit talkers fight or the biggest entertainers lacking talent fight each other.

I feel bad for Fitch. The guy was even on an undercard not too long ago. RIDICULOUS!!

Jake Shields splits his time between A.K.A. and team Ceasar Gracie.  He's friends with the guys over there, I don't know his views on fighting friends but A.K.A. seems pretty content not too, That seems like it's really starting to get under Dana's skin.  That being said, it's gonna be hard to keep those 4 guys from fighting each other (Swick,Fitch,KOS,Shields), Dana's gonna put his foot down real soon.  Fitch has been throwing around the idea of moving up to 185lbs which might interest me a little.

I don't think Jake would have a hard time fighting the AKA guys,  Remember Gil and Josh fought twice and those guys are friends.  Dana's problem is he's trying to negotiate a Josh v. Fitch fight instead of just telling them this is the fight we want, take it or leave it.

Like I said I wouldn't mind seeing Hughes v. Hallman again,   How about Fitch v. Howard or Rumble?

Fitch is getting the winner of Koz/GSP.

I'm sure Fitch will fight Koz if he has to for the belt.
