Digestive Enzymes
« on: October 08, 2010, 11:44:17 AM »
I usually take 1 pill every 8 hours, but just for a couple of days. Then, after a week I feel I need them again and It really helps me cause I'm not really hungry all the time.

Do you think they could be dangerous if I keep using them in the same way I do it now?

I've heard Pro use digestive enzimes year round, but c'mon... I don't think they really care about the side effects lol

So, what's your opinion about digestive enzymes?

I take DE’s several times daily and have never experienced any adverse affects.

I’ve never encountered reports of people who’ve developed any kind of problems from using DE’s, either.
That doesn’t mean that nothing bad can/will ever happen as a result of using them, but…

I somewhat understand what you’re saying and agree to an extent, but I don’t know that it’s accurate to make a blanket statement.

There are plenty of individual digestive anomalies/sensitivities that not everyone’s digestive system is exactly the same.
IMO, these variances are enough to suggest that there is a percentage of people who will benefit from DE’s.

Even effects as minor as reducing gas buildup after consuming certain food sources (such as dairy) count as a benefit in my book.

Oh, no prob.
My Anatomy 1 professor emphatically insisted that, in their respective form, no supplement can be effectively utilized by the body.
I believe the context of the conversation was in regards to protein and amino powders.

The guy has a PhD, is a retired pathologist, and is the head of the school's biology dept.
Lots of experience in those things, but I don't suspect he counts body composition enhancement among his credentials.

Actually, I've yet to encounter a person of scientific background who carries any respectable amount of muscle & definition simply and so easily dismiss all supplements.
I believe that, oftentimes, many science "authorities" extrapolate on the subject.
