I wonder if the Yankees could have won 89 games WITHOUT three of their best players.

In the end, the MIGHTY Yankess only won 7 more games than a Red Sox team with a RASH of injuries to key players.

Another first round bow out by the Yankees.

Btw, I am well aware the Red Sox stunk up the joint this year and I don't give a shit!

Second round.

The Yankees had Jorge Posada and Andy Pettitte out for two months.  Swisher missed time, ARod missed time, their DH and #2 .400 OBP hitter missed a full year.

The sox season boiled down to poor performances by Lackey, Beckett, Paplebon, and their bullpen.  If those performed up to their ability, the sox may have made the playoffs, due to getting more than expected from Beltre, Ortiz, and Buchholz.

Either way, it's Pats / Giants time!
