President's Ratings Climb (WSJ/NBC News poll, Obama at 53% approval per 1000 warm bodies)
The Wall Street Journal ^ | Wednesday, Janaury 19, 2011 | Jonathan Weisman and Danny Yadron

President Barack Obama is riding a surge of public support into next week's State of the Union address, with more Americans approving of his performance and more seeing him as a political moderate, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.

In the survey, 53% said they approved of the job Mr. Obama is doing as president, up eight percentage points from December. Forty-one percent said they disapprove of the president's performance, down from 48% last month. The poll surveyed 1,000 adults from Jan. 13-17.

Among political independents, positive views of Mr. Obama's job performance surpassed negative views for the first time since August 2009. For the first time in a year, the president drew a positive reaction from white adults, when asked about their feelings toward Mr. Obama.

The poll was conducted days after a shooting rampage in Tucson, Ariz., in which six people died and 14 were injured, including Gabrielle Giffords, a Democratic congresswoman from the state.

Yeah wonder why?
I'm thinking maybe this?.... :D

Pretty messed up.  To find this video I searched, "Obama needs" on youtube.  Of course as soon as you start entering something it comes up with a list of popular searches based on what you're typing.  The number one suggestion based on what others were searching was, "Obama needs to die"  I don't like the guy but that's fucked up.  enough people are searching that on youtube that they recommend it as a search result?  ::)  That's just wrong...

Boehner gets big poll bump
By: Jake Sherman and Jonathan Allen

The honeymoon’s been good for John Boehner and the American public, according to a USA Today/Gallup poll released Tuesday.

The new House speaker’s favorability rating spiked to 42 percent — or nearly double the 22 percent of respondents who view him unfavorably. The new rating is eight points higher than just after the mid-term election and represents a 15-point jump since earlier in the fall, according to Gallup.

“It’s better to be up than down – but it doesn’t change the speaker’s job: listening to the American people, and fighting for their priorities, including cutting spending and creating jobs,” Boehner spokesman Michael Steel said.

Among Republicans, Boehner’s favorability ratings are up 19 points to 65 percent, while 39 percent of independents and 25 percent of Democrats find him favorable — jumps in all categories, according to the poll released Tuesday.

One in three Americans are unfamiliar with the new House speaker. The results may not be surprising: After all, Republicans did just win control of the House. But they suggest that Democratic efforts to demonize Boehner didn’t bring him down — or even make him that much more recognizable.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi isn’t seeing the same fortunes. Her unfavorable ratings have stayed constant at 54 percent, while just 33 percent find her favorable — a bump of four points.

Just 25 percent of Americans polled find Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) favorable, and 41 percent unfavorable.

even an obama guy like me has to shake his head at the insanity of it.
