Honestly, no "family car" beats my 5 series, I regret not getting the 540

my next car will be this in black

For some reason the older "luxury performance sedans" have more cache and visceral appeal than the new ones. And it's not nostalgia. Just like older 911 Turbos, or old Mustangs, there is something missing in today's cars, with all the electronics, stability aides, warning lights, etc. Like dating the chick with a banging body and face, but finding out you can't test drive unless you get married....

I believe on I-83 in VA there is a Studebaker Hawk, that is sitting close to the road on a farm, just rusting away...you just reminded me of that...

I was thinking something in the realm of this
http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=67418

Would be stupid to do this to a M5...but a 540i...or even modifying a 540i to be a racecar...
bwhahahaa...and you were worried about spending money on the is300...

Yeah, I know....
That is a lol moment, I'm more like my dad when it comes to that...but, actually you are more like my dad in terms of pulling a car apart and Doing work on it...it just doesn't see the point in spending money on project cars. He had a '76 Volvo and a 78 T-bird that "he was going to fix back up".

How does that thing feel bone stock? I've heard lots of different opinons. I've been waiting for forever for them to up the displacement and power from the 4.6. Hopefully if my grant is approved at work I can make this the next mustang of the fleet.

The 1M seemingly is what the M3 should have been. The 1M just maybe a monster in disguise. You know damn well someone who get that will treat it like a Supra, GTR, or 911 Turbo and crank up the
boost...the 1M seems like it will be the M3's nightmare.

the M3 is like any other car...its a platform to build on....if you plan on leaving it stock..get a different car..

I am looking at the Cadillace CTS AWD 3.6 and the Ford Taurus.
I really like the Ford because they didn't take any bail out money, and I am friends with the owner of the dealership.
Any thoughts?
