On a VERY limited scale, I don't have a problem with it.....certain circumstances, but for the program to be that large, you know there is a ton of abuse in it.

I don't agree with it on any scale, not for the Federal Govt. at least. If a state wants to help its citizens than fine, the state can do that. The Federal Govt. has other things to do.

Oh boo hoo. Less welfare money available for smokes and malt liquor.

Any cuts to 'the poor' are a good thing. 99% of the money spent on the lower-classes is wasted anyhow.

Spend the $$$ (or steal less) form those that actually produce something.

You'd be suprised what 'the poor' can accomplish if the enablers back off.

I would agree that States should be able to, but the fed puts so many requirments and guidelines on them, that they often can't.  And when i say certain circumstances, I'm thinking elderly, disabled, perhaps widowed, etc... not lifelong welfare recipients.  imo, there needs to be a hard line drawn between the two.
