Trying to PRIVATIZE it you mean?

What if that had happened?  the 2008 crash leaves 1/4 of americans without their social security?  Great plan that would have been :)

The way things are going - we wont have SS.  Its already broke and didnt you listen to my Schiff clip with trustee of SS on this issue?

Doesn't matter either way, either party wold have done the same thing.  I am not trying to say the repubs or the dems are at fault i am saying BOTH of them are.

Don't matter either way? It does matter because you WRONGLY implied that the debt was there in the first place from 2000 to 2008. I advice you to look up the figures, figures by independent sources, showing the disparity between what Bush spent every day and Obama has spent so far.  This is important because Obama claimed Bush almost ran the economy off the cliff, but that he and the Dems took the wheel and diverted disaster. Anyone that looks at the expenses compounded by the Dems will only be able to come away with the point of view that Obama and the Dems pressed on the accelerator, not the brakes.

How do you know that the 2008 crash would have wiped out SS? There is no possible way for you to quantify it? So how could proclaim such a thing?

240, you should run for office. You have the Democratic scare tactic nailed perfectly.

I don't disagree with what you say the dems did although i don't think its what you said it was.  I will wait for you to back your claims up.  What I am telling you the repubs would have done the same shit. Hence it doesn't matter either way.    Our debt increased, yes, but we still had massive debt prior.

That just isnt true. The deficits under Bush may have seemed big compared to what was immediately before him, but by 2007 before the crash the deficit was below the average of the past 40 years. It was MANAGABLE. Ozmo, under Bush we were running deficits in the hundreds of billions. Under Obama we are running deficits in the trillions. Our debt increased  A LOT under Obama. Bush's deficits were sustainable, these deficits are not.

Bush's largest deficit was $455 billion, OBama's smallest deficit is $1.3 trillion . If you you think the Republicans would have done a $800 billion stimulus and created a whole new entitlement program, I reallly dont know what to tell you except that you are DEAD WRONG.  Obama owns these deficits, and the rationalizing of this by independentents drives me up the wall.

NO. The entire Republican HOuse unanimously voted against it and all but 2 or 3  Republicans in the Senate voted against it.

Medicare is broke and going to collapse the budget.  Even Bill clinton admitted it to Ryan.

Wrong. Budge became broken from 2008 until now. It became broken when Dems took over Congress and Barry settled in the Oval office. We need to get gridlock in Washington so that Barry can't continue to destroy it further.

Clinton pwning Ryan, I'd wager.  "Keep up the good fight, brother!" as Ryan refuses to compromise and the house seats will start turning Dem again in 2012...

I don't disagree with what you are saying here, I still just think it wouldn't have mattered as much either way.  The repubs or a republican wouldn't have spent as much as Obama for sure, but it still would have been in the trillions.  Thanks for the info.
