Does Hollywood needs to f*ck up everything?

Now Lisbeth looks like lady gaga...and nothing beats the original version of Immigrant song... f*ck off Trent Reznor.

GRACIE. I thought likewise when I first heard that Hollywood was gonna remake "Dragon Tattoo" and also thought that it was a mistake for not using the original actress .(she did one hell of a great job) ......

BUT yesterday I saw the previews of the Hollywood production and was damn impressed to say the least and I am hard to impress when it comes to movie productions.

This may be the rare case in which the copy is better than the original...... and I am a major fan of the original and the sequels as well.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Hollywood handles this one ..... and if they will proceed with "Played with Fire" and "Hornet's Nest'.

There is something about great FOREIGN films that impress me more than the typical Hollywood productions but I find it difficult to be more precise in saying why. It could be that they use actors and actresses whom I'm not familiar with .... thereby making it more realistic in my mind.

I always "fall into" a great movie. Great movies stir up my emotions and I actually feel like I become a part of the story.

Others may feel the same about the movies that they like best but this past year I felt like I became a part of "IT'S KIND OF A FUNNY STORY" and "UNGLORIOUS BASTARDS" and "SOUL SEARCHER" as well as all three of "The Girl ..... " flicks.

Now I look forward to 'falling into' this new Hollywood production.

If I don't 'fall into the picture', I tend to dislike it. I definitely FELL OUT of "X-Men: First Class".

Strange but true but ..... I gotta admit that I sort of "fell into" that preview scene In "Mr Popper's Penguins" where Carry does a short dance sequence with the penguin critters and the face he made once that sequence ended.

LOL OMG Hollywood has hit an all time low with this shit.  I mean come on.....what the hell is the point of remaking an already great movie.............makes no fucking sense.  Who cares if it's good.........it's retarded.  The original was damn good why waste the time to see the same movie just because it has American Hollywood actors.

Plus the actress that played Lisbeth was outstanding and fit the character really well.  Shows you the lack of imagination plaguing Hollywood nowadays.

Mc, I sort of agree with  ya but we gotta wait until that first opening weekend to see what it brings in at the box office.

If it makes money, it will be called a stroke of genius.

Do you have any idea how many people in the US have seen the original? I don't even recall if it was released nation-wide. I saw it at a small art house because it was not playing in any of the larger LV multi-plexes,

Those who have not seen the original just might show up for this one  ... and those who liked the original will most likely go see this one just to see how it compares to the original.

It could be a WIN-WIN situation.

OMG ITS SO DIFFICULT TO READ TEH WORDS ON THE SCREEN!!!!!!!Seriously why was this film remade, from the trailer it looks like a scene by scene copy, even the locations look completely identical, subtitles didnt ruin the original at all.Id be extremely pissed if I was the original films director, unless he's getting a fat payday from the remake.

They should have had the original actress naomi rapace play lisbeth in the remake as well.

She fuckin nailed the character. It doesnt look like this girl will do as well.

Oh well. I loved the first movie so ill go see this one. But I dont have too high of expectations.

The original movie was shit.  The trailer for the new one looks marginally better.

Noomi rapace is a hormonized witch.  Very ugly, dull character.

ARMY, PIP, FLEX,

I had the same word reading problem while watching that trailer on a huge IMax screen and while ithe scenes were flashing by it looked familiar ... and when I got half way through it, I began to have deja'vu and finally realized that I had seen a different version of all this before.

Different but somewhat more dramatic and stark than the original.

A lot of thought and discussions go into the making of these 'trailers' and I have a hunch that my experience was exactly what they were looking for.

I also think that  they have made a special effort to satisfy all "..... Dragon Tattoo" fans and I think that they are going to be sucessfully satisfying the original movie fans, the readers of the book, and also all the new-comers who will be going to see it.

There are a lot of psychological undertones going on here.

But I also would have liked to see the original star take the lead role in this new version.

It's also somewhat interesting to realize that a director has the opportunity to fix it up in an effort to make it even better than the original version. I hope he is successful in doing so, but the original was hard to beat no matter who undertakes to do so.

Let me guess you probably think that the American version of Nikita " Point of no return" beats the European version "La Femme Nikita".

Hollywood destroyed Nikita... and will definitely destroy The Dragon Tattoo trilogy.
