No need.  Many of the important historical figures were Christian.   :)

agreed, but is it taught from the perspective of the Christians important influence to society or just from the persons importance?

seems to me that if your going to teach about the contributions of glbt ::) b/c theyve had so many...that you should teach about the contribution of christian americans as well...

so would everyone support that as well?

More from the person's importance, rather than emphasizing their faith.  I was half joking.  :)

In term so contributions, I don't really think we need to do break down history by racial, ethnic, religious, or especially who-you-choose-to-have-sex-with categories.

But I do understand the point you're making and agree that it would be logical to ensure kids understand the role of Christians if they're bringing GLBT contributions into history classes.
