‘Twilight’ star Kristen Stewart heads Forbes list of highest-paid actresses

22-year-old commanded $34.5 million in one year span; Cameron Diaz, Sandra Bullock are second and third

Kristen Stewart, star of the 'Twilight' movies and 'Snow White and the Huntsman,' tops Forbes' list of best-paid actresses.

Perennial pouty puss Kristen Stewart finally has a reason to smile.

On Tuesday, Forbes released its list of highest-paid actresses and the “Twilight” and “Snow White and the Huntsman” starlet tops the Hollywood heap with her $34.5 million haul from May 2011 to May 2012.

In vampire terms, that doesn’t suck.

The magazine credits the astronomical sum to the fact that the 22-year-old actress is integral to the wildly popular — and lucrative — “Twilight” franchise.

“The star becomes indispensable,” notes Forbes, “and the studio has to pay up.”

Nipping at Stewart’s heels in the No. 2 spot is Cameron Diaz at $34 million over the same span.

'What to Expect When You're Expecting' star Cameron Diaz can expect $34 million per movie.

The curvy 39-year-old comic actress and surfer chick was seen recently in the stillborn diaper-centric dud “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.” But she had a $216 million global hit with "Bad Teacher."

In a distant No. 3 spot is America’s Sweetheart Sandra Bullock, who pulled in a tidy $25 million, while Jennifer Aniston squeaked into the elite roster with her $11 million earnings.

'Blinde Side' star Sandra Bullock flashes her $25 million smile.

Despite the staggering sums, Forbes noted that women are still paid significantly less than men in the movie biz.

“The 10 women who make up our list earned a total $200 million compared to the $361 million brought in by our top 10 men.”

Even so Kristen, feel free to keep smiling.

The full list:

1. Kristen Stewart, $34.5 million

2. Cameron Diaz. $34 million

3. Sandra Bullock, $25 million

4. Angelina Jolie, $20 million

5. Charlize Theron, $18 million

6. Julia Roberts, $16 million

7. Sarah Jessica Parker, $15 million

8. Meryl Streep, $12 million

9. Kristen Wiig, $12 million

10. Jennifer Aniston, $11 million

SWATH Sequel To Become Huntsman Spin-Off; Kristen Stewart Dropped

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Snow White and the Huntsman star Kristen Stewart will not return for the originally planned sequel and that Chris Hemsworth's Huntsman will get his own spin-off film instead. This news comes following the aftermath of the recent romantic affair Stewart had with the married Rupert Sanders (the director of the first film). Sources with ties to the production of the follow-up also claim Sanders will return for the sequel, though nothing is completely certain just yet. David Koepp, the writer of the first film, is not set to return due to the drastic change in the franchise's direction. A Universal Spokeswoman states "The studio is currently exploring options to continue the franchise" . Universal is now searching for a new writer for the spin-off and are also hoping to begin filming next July, when Thor star Chris Hemsworth becomes available.

Hold The Phone! Kristen Stewart Could Reprise Her Role In SWATH Sequel

Earlier today The Hollywood Reporter claimed that their sources had heard Kristen Stewart was out of the planned Snow White and the Huntsman spin-off that will star Chris "Thor" Hemsworth, with director Rupert Sanders still on board. But the LA Times has heard a different story from Universal.

But the studio that released that film, Universal, insists that plans for a second movie centering on the Huntsman character played by Chris Hemsworth are proceeding and that Stewart’s Snow White could still be a character in that film, despite reports that suggested otherwise.
