Don't make the mistake of hounding him into driving in the middle of the road.  Many fathers are unused to being on the passenger side and chastise their offspring drivers for driving too close to the edge of the road.

It's stupid as fuck.  I was a fat teen permabulker, big round face like a beach ball when I got my license.  I made friends with some NPC guys at the time and they tought me about diet, supps, illegals etc...  I didn't touch gear but I learned about eating better and leaned up real nice.  Well after that I would get harrassed going into any club where they ID you because my face was all lean but my license was a fat face, some places straight up accused me of using a fake license were others just let it go. it was a pain so I went to the DMV to get an updated photo.

Similar happened to me, but I'd always get a "wow, congrats on the weight loss" or something along those lines. Facial features didn't change much, you could still tell it was me, but I no longer had the double chin and squinty eyes from my huge cheeks.
