The entire American population can fit into the State of Texas. We still  have plenty of room here. We have enough oil here to power us for generations without financing people who want to kill us.

Maybe, if the living standard is similar to overcrowded Indian cities, barely anything more than survival. Hard to imagine Americans living that way.
You do have enough oil, but it is still cheaper to invade other countries and take over oil fields than spend much more money on infrastructure and technology to exploit your own oil in Alaska and elsewhere.

So what do you want to do? Are you a vegetarian? Do you drive a car, take a bus? Do you buy groceries, clothes, anything... all which have to be delivered by trucks? What countries have we invaded and took over their oil fields? We could if we wanted to. We could have taken over Iraq's oil fields. But we didn't take their oil. We buy it. And at market prices. And the money now goes to the people of Iraq instead of Saddam Hussein.  You know nothing about oil. Oil companies would love to drill in Alaska. We've been wanting to drill in Alaska for decades but it's environmental extremist like you that prevents that. "Raping" an area of Alaska that you will never go to, that's dark six months out of the years, and populated by caribou and mosquitoes. An area equivalent to one square inch of a football field. We are not allowed to drill off the coast in Florida but have to watch other countries do it.

You complain yet you still want to keep your house warm in the winter and cool in the summer. You want to use your washers and dryers and you TVs and computers. Energy requires resources. When you are able to give up all energy derived from these natural resources then you can talk.

You are clueless to what it takes to keep you in your comfortable and cushy life. Try to go without electricity for one week. Go without using anything that is fuel by gas for one week.

And you're right, no one is talking about suicide, they talking about getting rid of other people.
