True. Haftor needs to generate much more force for that.
I’ve studied physics just so much that I know it can be calculated.

Distance lifted times weight divided by time it took, or something like that. 🤷‍♂️🤯

Competitive powerlifters probably choose the style that is strongest for them, they just want the gold medal. There are lots of mechanical explanations if you google on the pros and cons of sumo. I think sumo was slower and heavier off the ground but easier lock out, things like that.

Yes.
What I meant was one could calculate how many joules of energy is needed in those lifts.
As Haftors bar is moving quite a bit longer distance the energy output is propably more than in Coltons lift.

Yes and my point was that it's not at all certain Thor would lift more sumo.

Tør is so long that I wonder would it be optimal sumo stance even if his feet touched the plates?

But how would you wager their lifting distance differs in their record lifts. 510kg and 520kg?

By 30cm? More or less.

[edit]
If Tør moves 510kg for 70cm and Colton moves 520cm for 40cm
There is around 1000 Joules more energy spent in Tørs lift. Almost a third more.

No,I didn’t calculate it. Just googled 😊

I'm 5'10-5'5'11 and I touched the plates when I tried sumo :D

There's so many variables so trying to figure it out mathematically probably doesn't work.

Usually equipped lifters get much more out of a suit going sumo. I'm the only one I know who got 115lbs out of a suit conventional. It was unbelievable, some get nothing at all.
