The first time was at a Jersey Shore house when I was a teen. Yes, I live in NJ. We had a beach house with about 8 guys. We lived like animals. The fridge only contained beer. We ate out every meal. I thought I should have something to snack on. I went to a store and bought a giant bag of dried fruit. I was new to eating it. I liked it so much I finished the bag then began drinking beer. That night I picked up the cutest blond who was the captain of the cheer leaders at her high school. It was the first time for me but not for her. Afterward we were just lying in bed when it happened. Explosive farts that I never experienced in my life. The huge amount of dried fruit I ate combined with the beer to create a thermal nuclear explosions in my stomach. Good times.
People from New Jersey always tell you that they're from New Jersey. Idk why. People from other states don't do this out of the blue. It doesn't bear on anything else that gets discussed but it gets put out there with a mix of pride & embarrassment so the listener can be awared of it as something of significance. Within the borders this doesn't happen, of course. It's assumed that everyone is from there since no one would move there. But once outside the Garden State it's hard to miss. To this day, when people ask where I'm from, I don't say 'America' or 'The US.' I tell them that I'm from New Jersey.
