Quote
Once again, an Internet regulatory showdown might be guided as much by grass-roots guerrilla tactics as the lobbying of Comcast and Verizon. The F.C.C. has received four million comments on net neutrality — overwhelmingly in favor — ahead of its Feb. 26 decision day, second only to Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction” at the Super Bowl in 2004.

After Mr. Cruz called net neutrality “the biggest regulatory threat to the Internet” on his Facebook page, the entry was flooded with comments like “I’m a Republican, and I support Sen. Cruz, and I’m a big admirer, but on this, he’s wrong, very wrong,” or “I’m a Ted Cruz fan, but as a small website owner, it seems to me net neutrality is a good thing,” and “Senator Cruz, you are risking alienating a huge part of your base by such a pro-monopoly stance. The battle for net neutrality is a conservative cause.”

Sorry, show me where someone with a Harvard law degree knows about the complexity of all things science?

Most policitians/lawyers do not know anything about science.

New flash genius: Being smart in one area, does not automatically qualify you to be smart in all areas.  ::) ::)

Would you trust a lawyer from Harvard to perform brain surgery on you? No. So, why would you trust a lawyer to make important decisions about science?  ::) ::)

name some people you think are dopes and lets see where they went to school.

bill o'reilly went to harvard. proof positive that a piece of paper from a brand name institution has nothing to do with being educated.

Yes, I am sure that you would have been thrilled to see Rand Paul in either of those positions.

These are political positions, not science positions. Policy, even science policy (which should be an oxymoron IMHO), is staffed by politicians.

Actually, I'd prefer Hillary Clinton.

Yes, but Cruz makes direct statement about science, even  beyond the political position. If he is hired purely for the policy and politics of it, that is fine. But then he should not speak about the actual science, which he knows absolutely nothing about. His knowledge should stop at the politics of it. The thing is, you really can't separate the policy with the actual science, that is the problem. They need someone who is a politician who is also a scientist or has some working knowledge of science.

Because Hillary is a scientist or because she shares your political beliefs?

I'd rather be represented by a few meth-heads from a trailer park than any of the current crop of career politicians. A pox on all of their houses.

True BUT I do think he will curb the insane spending.

Bohnner + Senate repubs + Obama/Reid convinced the House to pass a 1.1 trillion budget to CRIPPLE the new Repub senate.  They had power to halt obamacare or amnesty by denying obama the funding for these things.  Not anymore.  They don't get power until the end of 2015 now, and by then everyone's in re-election mode. They had ONE CHANGE to fix the budget, and it's already passed - thanks to the repubs in power.

So I'm okay with ted cruz being a little wacky, getting elected, and slowing down the insane national debt.  Cause romney or jeb sure won't do it, neither will Hilary.

There will be only token political actions of resistance from "leaders".  The very nature of debt fiat currency ensures that it will always collapse.  The world wide interlocked nature of risk and leveraged debt means the elites have no choice but to move towards complete fascist control.  Anything else would be a threat to their status and privilege on a international scale...and that simply won't be allowed to happen.

Avenues of freedom will be cut off, acts of independence and rebellion will be squashed, and total complicit control will be made "legal".

The upside of this event is that it will be the stimulus for man's exodus off of the planet.  That is life's ultimate goal.

Prepare accordingly.
