Health is a factor of being an all-time great.  Who knows how Bo Jackson would rank amongst RBs, if he played a full career.

Those are the breaks.

i saw him many times at shibe park aka connie mack stadium in philly and in a doubleheader at shea...he hit a triple in first game and a homerun in 2 nd. here is a comparison both guys had same amount of games played in career in 1966, mays missed 2 years due to military service and mantle injuruies...mays was my favorite player when i was a kid..

good point and mantle played in a more hitter friendly park, mays played from 1958-on in candlestick which was a bad hr park

The thing is tape measures don't lie. Mantle legitimately hit the ball further on a regular basis than any person to play the game. Ive actually met guys who played with him they said he was only 5'10. A 5'10 190 guy hitting balls further than these juiced up 6'2 240 lb players....he was rediculousy strong and fast.
