I am not a "liberal", nor are you in any way significant enough to make me "angry".

Ya' dumb bastard! :D

So let me guess, you're a pro black nationalist of some kind? Radical muslim who opposes freedom, equality and peace? You have to be.

Why don't you go to some nazi web site to argue with those people. You and they have the same kind of mind set. Break a leg.

The thing that bothers me is this (and I do appreciate your argument, Lustral)

Do you believe it was truly unintended by all concerned people?  And do you expect it will do anything but get worse?

What HAS become the European Union (overarching laws superior to laws of sovereign member states etc, with unelected and unrepresentative views espoused by beaurocrats completely oblivious to reality) started as the European Coal and Steel Community - ie just for basic trade to stop France and Germany going to war every few years.

Then more members came, more conditions were attached (Ireland had to give up all rights to fishing in an extremely lucrative fishing area) and soon what started as a good project became a runaway train to shit. The US has a constitution, and it means something. The EU had basic principles (freedom of movement, capital, goods, services as well as basic employment and human rights). Then it added stupid laws and raped member nations in trouble financially. That was not in treaties, nor was it in the small print.

How to make government smaller though - well that's an issue everywhere.
